Psychotherapy
Looking for a therapist to help you recover from an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body image concerns?
I work with my clients to create a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs, wherever you may be in your journey.
I use a combination of evidence-based techniques to help you work toward recovery. Evidence-based treatments, like CBT-E and Family-Based Therapy for eating disorders, have been researched extensively and are the most effective therapies for overcoming eating disorders. I also incorporate ACT and DBT based on a client’s needs.
Have other concerns, like anxiety or depression? Dr. Brosof specializes in both eating and anxiety concerns, including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD. She also treats a wide range of disorders and conditions that often co-occur with eating disorders, including depression, ADHD, and trauma.
All psychotherapy is provided over telehealth.
Health At Every Size (HAES) Approach
Dr. Brosof takes a Health at Every Size approach to care, meaning that the goal of treatment is to get you back to living a life free of your eating disorder. “Healthy” weight differs for each person, based on their own genetics and life experiences, not based on outdated and misleading BMI standards. Many studies show that weight stigma and weight loss efforts contribute to eating disorder symptoms, and therefore weight management is not a part of eating disorder treatment. If you have questions about what that means for your treatment, feel free to reach out for more information about a HAES approach.
Commitment to Gender-Affirming Care
Looking for a therapist that can help you navigate an eating disorder while also being gender-affirming? No matter where you fall on the gender spectrum (or if are exploring your gender identity), Dr. Brosof is committed to providing eating disorder treatment that takes into account gender dysphoria, stigma against LGBTQIA individuals, and other appearance-related stereotypes based on gender identity.

Eating Disorder Assessments
Dr. Brosof provides comprehensive evaluations to determine eating disorder diagnosis and appropriate level of care (e.g., outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospital program, residential, or inpatient) and provide treatment recommendations.
Assessment appointments are typically four hours long and consist of two sessions*:
Three hour evaluation, including clinical interviews and questionnaires (timing may vary based on individual needs)
One hour follow-up session to discuss assessment results and recommendations
Assessments also require individuals to see a medical provider for certain labs and vitals**
When scheduling your assessment, you will be asked to set up a medical appointment with your Primary Care Physician (or another medical provider) within the same timeframe to collect certain labs and vitals. Dr. Brosof will NOT be able to provide comprehensive assessment results or recommendations without a completed medical appointment.
Why do assessments require a doctor’s visit?
Eating disorders are complex disorders that often include significant medical complications. In determining the appropriate level of care for treatment, medical stability and status must be taken into account. For more information about medical stability and levels of care, please see: https://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/levels-of-care/
*The assessment fee includes BOTH appointments. Contact Dr. Brosof for more information about fees and payment.
**Medical appointments are not included in my fee and I am not responsible for any costs associated with the medical visit. Ask your primary care doctor or insurance about costs
